Celebrating Creativity and Impact: Our Award-Winning Video on Q-Methodology

We’re proud to share that the Introduction to Q-Methodology video, created for the REDEMOS Horizon Europe project, has gained international recognition with an Indigo Design Award.

Designed and developed by Marina Braem, this compelling explainer video has been honoured as:

· Bronze Winner in Infographics for Graphic Design

· Bronze Winner in Education for Social Change

At the heart of this video lies a powerful question: What is the EU’s role as a promoter of democracy? This is the central theme of the REDEMOS research project, yet it’s a topic often complicated by subjective interpretation and response bias. That’s precisely where Q-Methodology comes in — a robust approach for exploring subjectivity in a structured way.

Through a minimalist visual style, crisp animations, and a grid-based layout, the video breaks down this complex scientific method into an accessible and engaging format. It guides viewers through the core elements of Q-Methodology, tailored specifically to help survey participants better understand their role and the significance of their responses.

The video was produced in close collaboration with our partners the Institute of Political Science at the University of St. Gallen (HSG), who provided the briefing concept and script. Marina Braem handled the entire design and visual storyboard, along with the animation, sound design, subtitles, and generated voiceovers in three languages.

This award-winning piece not only strengthens the REDEMOS project’s outreach but also exemplifies how thoughtful design can support education for social change.

We congratulate Marina on this remarkable achievement and thank the University of St. Gallen for their visionary collaboration.
