Final REDEMOS Webinar: Disinformation and Democratic Resilience in Ukraine

REDEMOS concludes its webinar series with the final webinar of the project, taking place on 22 December 2025, from 15.00 to 16.00 CET. The event focuses on one of the most pressing challenges facing contemporary democracies, disinformation as a threat to democratic resilience. Titled “Disinformation and Democratic Resilience in Ukraine: Lessons for the EU’s Eastern Neighbourhood”, the webinar places Ukraine at the centre of the discussion, drawing broader lessons for the EU’s eastern neighbourhood.

The webinar drawing on insights from the REDEMOS project, it explores how information manipulation affects trust, civic participation, and the role of civil society, and discusses implications for EU democracy support across the eastern neighbourhood.

The discussion will feature two speakers with direct experience in countering disinformation. Mr Siim Kumpas, Leader of the Policy, Strategy & Partnerships Team, Info Integrity & Countering FIMI Division, European External Action Service (EEAS), Brussels, and Mykola Balaban, Representative of the Center for Strategic Communications (CSCIS), Ukraine. The webinar will be moderated by Spyridoula Markou, Fact-checking Consultant at ATC and assessor for the IFCN and EFCSN.

This final REDEMOS webinar brings the project’s public engagement activities to a close, offering a reflective look at key findings while opening the conversation on the future of democratic resilience in the EU’s eastern neighbourhood and beyond.
